6/10/2026 All the following was spontaneously reported by the caller. Caller reporting at 1:05am that he was working with this product yesterday, June 9th. He also worked with Enforcer D made by FMC and an unknown manufactureras 2,4-D product. While applying the products he was splashed on his clothes and wrist. He does not know which product splashed on him. He changed his clothes, washed, and felt fine most of the day, but since coming home and showering about 30 minutes prior to call he has developed chest tightness. He thought it may be due to what he ate for dinner but wanted to call to be cautious. 6/10/2026 Callback from caller at 11:06pm. He did not wear a mask while applying the products but identified the Puma Advance as having a strong chemical smell that stayed with him for a long time. Caller did get some on his skin. After taking a shower that night the customer experienced chest tightness that was persisting on and off. Caller stated he did not go to the emergency room as instructed as he was not sure if issues would last, although it persists now. He has called his doctor but refuses to go to the emergency room and is under the assumption he needs poison controlas permission to be seen there. He denies coughing and respiratory symptoms. 6/11/2026 Callback to caller at 1:47pm. Spoke with calleras wife. She reports the patient went to the emergency room 6/10/2026 due to chest tightness and shortness of breath. He was monitored and discharged with an inhaler. The patient has never used an inhaler in the past. He told his wife he is feeling 100% better today. The patient is working at time of call. The caller could not provide any further details. Enforcer D's manufacturer was incorrectly identified by caller, it is Nufarm.
Company correlation score: 0 (unlikely relationship). Puma Advance Herbicide (fenoxaprop-P-ethyl 8.7%) was used dermally alongside two non-company products, Enforcer D and 2,4-D, with reported symptoms of shortness of breath and chest tightness developing several hours after exposure and ongoing in nature. The reported time course is inconsistent with this exposure: while the product's solvents can carry a strong odor, odor-related symptoms typically present acutely and resolve on removal from the source rather than emerging hours later and persisting. Inhalation of droplets was not reported, and respiratory symptoms such as shortness of breath and chest tightness would not be expected from a dermal exposure to a product with low acute toxicity. Given the temporal incongruity, the mismatch between the dermal route and the respiratory symptom profile, and the confounding presence of concurrent co-exposures, a correlation between product and the symptoms reported is low, and other differential diagnoses should be evaluated by a healthcare provider.
