5/9/2024 Consumer reported loss of taste and a burning sensation after touching Raid Ant Baits. She is also concerned that her dog did not eat at all yesterday. She broke the baits apart and placed 16 baits in a small room 5/7/2024. She may have touched one of the bait packages in a window area yesterday at an unspecified time and cannot remember if she washed her hands afterwards. At an unspecified time yesterday, she was eating barbecue chips and could not taste them, reporting she lost her sense of taste and felt a burning sensation on her tongue. She took a couple of Ativan that she has for anxiety to help treat symptoms. Symptoms resolved after about 3 hours. She does not think symptoms are related to the product, but is curious and wants to know what happens if someone swallowed the bait? Is it okay for her to have 16 baits in a small room? Consumer reported her dog would not eat yesterday at all, but has been eating today. She reported he dog did not have any contact with the product, but wonders if the bait emits something that the dog can smell? If an ant gets the bait and walks on the dogas food, would that affect the dog? Consumer reported she has an Ear, Nose, and Throat Appointment coming up and she will discuss her symptoms with the Ear, Nose, and Throat provider then. 5/9/2024 Owner inquired if the productas contents could be emitted into the air and be inhaled by her dog or if there is concern for the ants tracking the product to her food. Owner has not seen any ants around her food, but dog typically eats at night when Owner cannot monitor closely. She is confident dog does not have access to the direct bait stations. Dog did not eat her food yesterday but is eating normally and asymptomatic today. Owner reports the product works great and she immediately saw a decrease in ants in her home. No further information is available.
