(p.ex. description des symptômes tels que la fréquence et la gravité
On an unspecified date, in Apr2020, the dog exhibited generalized pruritus. The dog was examined by a veterinarian; it is unknown if she was treated. On an unspecified date, in May2020, the dog exhibited weakness, lethargy, polydipsia, malodor, seborrhea, increased pruritus, unable to stand, abdomen became darker (pigmentation disorder), and sores that would not heal. The dog was re-evaluated by a veterinarian; unspecified diagnostics were done with unspecified results and the dog was started on unspecified antibiotics. On an unspecified date in Oct2020, the owner removed the collar. On an unspecified date in Nov2020, the pruritus resolved. On 02Apr2021 the dog died. No necropsy was performed.

O - Unclassifiable/unassessable Reported skin disorders of pruritus, later reported seborrhea, pigmentation and sores on other than the application site are not typically seen with topical product administration. Though initial pruritus may be seen with collar use, other skin disorders are not expected. Additionally reported malodour is not anticipated with product administration as the collar is odorless. Malodour may have multiple other causes (e.g. diet, fur condition, tartar) and may be rather connected to the pet than the product. In this case it rather seems to be secondary to the reported seborrhea. Further reported lethargy, polydipsia and weakness are unspecific and might be associated with other reported signs. Neurological sign of inability to stand is not typically seen with appropriate topical product administration. This is supported by the extremely low systemic exposure with imidacloprid and flumethrin, particularly during the first week after application and also thereafter. Even with oral product exposure which was not reported, only transient gastrointestinal signs are expected. Exact time to onset is unknown for initially reported pruritus, whereas it seems to be long for the later reported signs. Other unrelated causes should be considered. Later reported death is not expected following appropriate topical product application as inconsistent with products pharmacological profile. Oral exposure to the collar is not expected to cause serious signs either. An overdose of 5 collars around the neck was investigated in adult cats and dogs for an 8 months period and in 10 week old kittens and 7 week old puppies for a 6 months period without causing serious signs. This is supported by the extremely low systemic exposure with imidacloprid and flumethrin, particularly during the first week after application and also thereafter. Further, death was reported long time after collar removal, thus likely not product related. Necropsy details not available. Considering all aspects, a product relation is unassessable.
