About an hour after the cat was bathed with this shampoo on July 7, 2019, the cat developed retching, was unresponsive, and then passed away. The owner then contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) The APSS veterinarian stated that some animals are more sensitive to the ingredients than others. The APSS veterinarian continued by stating that signs often resolve after bathing and with topical applications of vitamin E and cool compresses, but may take up to 24-72 hours. Finally, the APSS veterinarian stated that oral exposures can lead to hypersalivation, vomiting, and diarrhea. The APSS veterinarian recommended a necropsy, to have the veterinarian call for information, and to call back with questions.
