On June 13, 2018, the kitten developed alopecia (hair loss). On June 16, 2018 after the spray was applied a second time and the kitten was bathed in the shampoo product, the kitten developed heavy breathing. An hour later, the owner bathed the kitten with palm oil and liquid dish washing detergent (LDWD) to try to remove the products. Soon after, the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS). While talking with the APSS assistant, the owner went to go check on the kitten and found he had passed away. The APSS veterinarian stated that death would not be expected from this exposure. The APSS veterinarian recommended that the owner take the kitten to a veterinarian and have a necropsy done, but the owner declined.
