1/21/2018 12:14:16 AM A pet owner called to report her dog had died recently and she was concerned it may have been exposed to the product as she had some in her garage. No specific exposure was witnessed or known but the owner was calling as a precaution. In December 2017 the dog began acting abnormally and developed a rash and skin ulceration on his abdomen. The dog was evaluated by a veterinarian on December 19, 2017 and referred to a veterinary internist. An abdominal ultrasound and other tests, including a skin biopsy, were performed. The dog was treated with antibiotics and topical silver sulfadiazine cream and kept in an Elizabethan collar. The dog's skin was improved with treatment. On January 18, 2018 the dog was found dyspneic and shaking then died before veterinary care could be obtained. The dog was buried, and no necropsy was performed. The owner was concerned the skin lesion was a thermal burn that occurred while the dog was at the groomer. No further information was received in this case.
