(p.ex. description des symptômes tels que la fréquence et la gravité
In the morning on August 19, 2017 the cat developed symptoms. Shortly after, the owner removed the collar and bathed the cat with dish soap. In the afternoon on August 20, 2017 the owner took the cat to a regular veterinarian but the cat passed away once the owner got there. On August 21, 2017 the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS). The APSS veterinarian stated that tetrachlorvinphos is an organophosphate (OP) with a very wide margin of safety and that it is used in flea collars and sprays for cats. The APSS veterinarian also stated that it is very rare to see muscarinic salivation, lacrimation, urination, defecation, dyspnea, emesis (SLUDDE) or nicotinic signs with tetrachlorvinphos. The APSS assistant recommended a necropsy and to call back with questions.
