1-48211213 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated her dog was exposed to an insecticidal shampoo containing the active ingredient D-phenothrin. One day before the day of initial contact with the registrant, the reporter indicated she bathed her 6-month-old, 3-pound, female Pomeranian dog with the product and that evening, the dog developed vomiting and diarrhea. On the day of initial contact, the dog still had vomiting and diarrhea, but also was not moving and her gums were a dark pink color. The reporter had bathed the dog again with dish soap. The reporter was advised that this is not an expected reaction to the product and should seek immediate veterinary evaluation for the dog. On follow up call later in the day on the same day as initial contact, the reporter indicated the puppy had died. The reporter did not seek veterinary care. No additional information is available.
