On an unknown date post application in 2015, the canine developed respiratory distress, was examined by a veterinarian, radiographs were performed with an abnormal finding, and the canine was diagnosed with lung cancer. No known treatments were performed. On an unknown date in 2015, the canine died and no
necropsy was performed. Due to the sensitive nature of the communication, specific relevant event details were not obtained, nor will such be sought. The reason for the initial phone call was to discuss the use of the product and not to report the death of the patient. No more information is expected and this case is closed.

Classification selon la gravité (s'il y a plus d'une catégorie possible, veuillez choisir la plus grave)
Mort
19. Donner des renseignements additionnels ici
Respiratory distress, abnormal radiograph findings and lung cancer are not expected following appropriate topical product application as inconsistent with products pharmacological profile. Death is not expected as well. Oral exposure to the collar is not expected to cause serious signs either. Death in this case is likely an outcome of the earlier reported signs. Moreover, the reason for the initial phone call was to discuss the use of the product and not to report the death of the patient. Though, some information is not available (time to onset, necropsy finding), outcome in this case was the consequence of alternative causes and thus sufficient information exists to conclude that the product did not cause the event and the product involvement is considered unlikely.
