1-45140419 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated her dog was exposed to an insecticidal shampoo containing the active ingredients piperonyl butoxide, pyrethrins, and N-octyl bicycloheptene dicarboximide. Four days before initial contact with the registrant, the reporter used the product to bathe her 2-pound, 3-month-old, female, mixed breed dog. An unknown number of days before initial contact, but after the bath, the reporter indicated the dog became lethargic, and had vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia and difficulty getting up. The reporter was advised to bathe the dog with dishwashing soap to remove the product, then get veterinary attention to treat the dogs symptoms. On follow-up call four days later, the reporter indicated the dog had passed away one day after initial contact with the registrant. The reporter was unable to seek veterinary care for the dog and thought the dog might have chewed on an electrical cord. No additional information is available.
