On an unspecified date post application, in approximately 2015, the dog had a splenic mass that ruptured and he died. It is not known if a necropsy was performed. No further information is expected. This case is closed. The reason for the initial call was to discuss use of the product on another pet and not to report the death of the dog.

À être déterminé par le titulaire

Classification selon la gravité (s'il y a plus d'une catégorie possible, veuillez choisir la plus grave)

Mort

19. Donner des renseignements additionnels ici

Splenic mass and death are inconsistent with pharmacotoxicological product profile and experience. Product has wide margin of safety. Oral LD50 in rat 642 mg/kg BW. 20-fold overdosage tolerated by dogs without showing any side effect. The product has no carcinogen potential. Dog died due to rupture of splenic mass. Further, the owner did not believe in product involvement either as reason for the initial call was to discuss product use on another pet and not to report the death of this dog. Animal involved in this case was geriatric. Considering these aspects, in spite of the limited information (time to onset, absence of necropsy results and medical history of the dog), a product relation is unlikely.
