(p.ex. description des symptômes tels que la fréquence et la gravité
On October 2, 2015 the puppy developed depression. On October 3, 2015 the puppy started vomiting. On October 4, 2015 the puppy developed diarrhea. On October 5, the puppy ingested a pork chop. On October 6, 2015 owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service and during the call the puppy developed bloody diarrhea. The APSS veterinarian stated some animals are more sensitive to the ingredients than others, and may experience rolling, hiding, vocalization, clingy behavior, lethargy, panting, reluctance to move, or have an abnormal gait (ex. take a few steps, stop, sit down and turn quickly toward their tail). The APSS veterinarian finally stated signs often resolve after bathing and with topical applications of vitamin E and cool compresses, but may take up to 24-72 hours and oral exposures can lead to hypersalivation, vomiting, and diarrhea. The APSS technician stated with the pork ingestion of the meat could be a dietary indiscretion, leading to vomiting and diarrhea. The APSS technician also stated if the bone or pieces of the bone were ingested, gastrointestinal (GI) irritation and potential foreign body obstruction (FBO). The APSS veterinarian recommended taking the puppy to the veterinarian, calling back questions, and discussed differential diagnoses (rule out parvo or FB).
