On June 16, 2015 the dog was rolling on the ground so the owner bathed the dog in an antifungal dog shampoo. Later that afternoon, the dog developed additional symptoms. On June 18, 2015 the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated with this product, we could see dermal signs (erythema, pruritus, paraesthesia). The APSS veterinarian further stated that some animals exhibit abnormal behavior in response to the skin sensation caused by dermal application. The APSS assistant recommended take the dog to the veterinarian, have the veterinarian call for information, and referral to the manufacturer (for complaints/reimbursement questions).

On June 22, 2015 an APSS technician called the owner to follow up on the case. The owner stated that on June 19, 2015 both dogs were seen at the regular veterinarian and placed on antibiotics. The owner further noted that Zeke's blistered area is drying up. Off label use of wrong size dose used on dog.
