(p.ex. description des symptômes tels que la fréquence et la gravité
On October 20, 2014, the pet owner registered a formal complaint alleging pesticide drift exposure to his property resulting in death to his animals. The pet owner stated he commercially raises deer. The deer yard is located on his property along the south side of 100th Street. The pet owner stated that a week after a roadside pesticide application was made along his property six fawns and his dog became ill and died. The case was assigned to (name), Pesticide Investigator, who began his investigation on October 21, 2014. The pet owner documented that on September 11, 2014, between 8:30 am and 3:10 pm, (name), certified applicator for (location), spot sprayed brush in the roadside of northern (location) using a tank mix containing herbicides Dow AgriSciences Garlon 4 Ultra (EPA Reg. No. 62719527) and DuPont Escort XP (EPA Reg. No. 352439). Mr. name recorded the wind as north at 1015 mph. The State of (state) climatologist's report shows the wind as north/northeast at 912 mph with gusts up to 1419 mph for the time and date of this application. On October 21 and 23, 2014, the pet owner collected soil samples (IA 22718) taken 10 feet south of the chain link fence surrounding the deer yard and (IA 22719) taken from the road ditch six feet north of the fence. Sample IA 22719 revealed minimal residue detections of metsulfuron methyl, an active ingredient in DuPont Escort XP. Because of the time frame from when this particular application occurred to when the dog owner's complaint was filed with the Pesticide Bureau, the samples taken may not reflect the actual amount of residues that may have collected onto the dog owners property.
Mort
It is unknown if the product drift caused the dog and fawns to die.
