On 18-Apr-2015, the dog began vomiting. On 20-Apr-2015, the dog was anorexic, lethargic, and ataxic. The dog had not been evaluated by a veterinarian. Follow-up received on 27th April 2015: On 19-Apr-2015, the dog was bathed with dish soap. On 24-Apr-2015, the dog presented to the veterinary clinic with the contuation of the clinical signs, jaundice, and weight loss. The veterinarian performed a physical exam, fecal exam, and bloodwork which revealed liver failure. The dog was started on 12ml of lactulose and amoxicillin 500mg, both to be given twice daily. On 25-Apr-2015, the dog began having seizures and had inappropriate defecation. On 26-Apr-2015, the dog died. A necropsy was not performed. No further information is expected. This case is closed.

19. Donner des renseignements additionnels ici
Digestive disorders (lethargy, ataxia, vomiting, anorexia, adipsia with subsequent continued vomiting, worsening of ataxia weight loss and jaundice) likely reflects underlying hepatic insufficiency after confirmed diagnosis by performing blood-work few days later. Hepatic disorders are inconsistent with the pharmaco-toxicological product profile. Though slight neurological signs may occur after product application, more severe neurological signs (e.g. seizures) are not expected. Indeed, it is known that, at recommended dosage, none of active ingredients in the product has the potential to provoke seizures in dogs neither alone nor in combination. Neurological signs reported might be linked to the hepatic insufficiency. Inappropriate defecation likely consequence of seizures. Death is likely consequence of underlying condition. Necropsy was not performed. Considering unexpected signs and long duration of clinical signs, a product relation is deemed to be unlikely.
