(p.ex. description des symptômes tels que la fréquence et la gravité
On 17-Jan-2013, a 7 year old, 57.4 pound, intact, male, Basset Hound canine, in good condition, with no known concomitant medical conditions, had 1 Seresto Large Dog (Flumethrin-Imidacloprid) collar placed around the neck by the attending vet. The veterinarian prescribed two tablets of maropitant citrate. On 16- pr-2013, the patient was taken to the veterinary clinic for a wellness exam. The gagging had resolved. On approximately 17-May-2013, the patient had a distended abdomen. On 17-Jun-2013, the patient would not eat and had lost weight. The dog was taken to the veterinary clinic where the veterinarian performed an exam, noting a palpable abdominal mass and lymphadenitis in the cervical, prescapular, popliteal, and mesenteric lymph nodes. The veterinarian performed blood work with unspecified results and a radiograph, which confirmed the abdominal mass (abnormal radiograph finding). The patient was tentatively diagnosed with lymphoma, though it was not confirmed at that time. No other diagnostics or treatments were performed at that time. On 03- ul-2013, the patient had a biopsy performed by a vet. On 10-Jul-2013, the dog died. On 11-Jul-2013, the biopsy results came back as lymphoma high grade. No necropsy was performed.

N- Unlikely. Gagging is not expected with appropriate topical product administration. Onset time of gagging also not suggestive of product involvement either. Other causes should be considered (e.g. first symptom of lymphoma, which has been diagnosed a few month later). Gagging resolved without collar removal and thus was considered unlikely product related. The other reported signs (distended abdomen. anorexia, weight loss, lymphadenitis) started four month after collar application. These signs are also not expected with product application. All signs are rather caused by the lymphoma, which has been diagnosed through biopsy. In this case, death of treated animal is probably the consequence of the lymphoma. Therefore, product involvement unlikely.
