On 18Jun2013, a 1.5 year old, 35 pound, spayed, female, Labrador Retriever/Rat Terrier crossbred canine, in good condition, with no known medical conditions, was administered the following vaccines: rabies, distemper, parvo virus, and bordetella. On 21Jun2013, one Seresto Large Dog Collar (Flumethrin- imidacloprid) was placed around the dog's neck by the owner.On 23Jun2013, the dog was found outside and she had developed shaking, tremors, twitching, and seizure-like activity. The morning of 24Jun2013, the dog was vomiting and unable to walk. The dog was examined at the veterinary clinic. Bloodwork revealed abnormal unspecified kidney values. The collar was removed, the dog was bathed and given intravenous fluids. The signs improved at that time. However, the dog passed away at the clinic sometime during the night of 24Jun2013

O- Unclassifiable Time to onset compatible with product use. However, the product is not anticipated to cause seizures after appropriate topical product administration. No oral product exposure reported. No neurological signs are expected without oral product uptake. Any action or treatment may trigger seizures in an animal with a respective disposition. Test result revealed abnormal renal values and animal received several vaccinations concurrently, which all could have contributed to signs. Digestive disorders are not expected without oral ingestion. Signs might be secondary effects of observed reaction. Fatal outcome neither expected nor in line with pharmaco-toxicological product profile and rather due top rogressivly worsened medical condition of the dog. No necropsy performed. Unknown if animal suffered from some unknown underlying systemic disease. Overall, case is considered to be not assessable.
