(p.ex. description des symptômes tels que la fréquence et la gravité

On 15-Jul-2014, the cat ran inside and began hypersalivating, hyperventilating, having a small amount of diarrhea, his tongue was hanging out of his mouth, and the hair on his tail was standing on end (piloerection). Once inside the house, the cat became lethargic and was limp.Approximately 10 minutes after onset, the cat could not use his hind legs. Upon presentation to the emergency veterinarian, the cat had pale mucous membranes and became even more limp. The cat then went into cardiac arrest and died. A necropsy was not performed.

19. Donner des renseignements additionnels ici

Behavioural sign e.g. running inside is rather unspecific. Hypersalivation is expected after suspected ingestion of product. Sign is consistent with distaste reaction. However, tachypnea is not expected with appropriate topical product use and may rather be a secondary effect of behavioural disorder (running inside). Diarrhoea is unspecific and may have various other causes. Tongue hanging out of mouth is unspecific and not expected after product application, however may be consequence of tachypnoea. Signs such as hair standing and pale mucus membranes is unspecific, not expected and other causes are more likely. Lethargy is unspecific but rather consequence of observed signs. Neurological signs (limpness, unable to support hind limbs) are not expected and are inconsistent with product pharmacotoxicological profile. Cardiac arrest and subsequent death is not expected after product application as inconsistent with pharmaco toxicological product profile. Other etiologies are more probable. No signs of allergy/anaphylactic reaction reported.death is inconsistent with the pharmacological product profile. Product has wide margin of safety. Oral LD50 in rat 642 mg/kg BW. 24-fold overdosage tolerated by cats without showing any side effect. Thus, considering all aspects, a product connection seems unlikely
