On September 21, 2013 the owner noticed that the cat was symptomatic. That owner then diluted the product by giving the cat a small amount of fresh water. A short time later the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that the concern with the exposure is for taste reactions (hypersalivation and vomiting). The APSS assistant recommended that the owner bathe the cat with liquid dish washing detergent (LDWD); give the cat a taste treat of a small amount of milk or canned tuna juice; monitor for gastrointestinal (GI) signs to see if the vomiting continued; monitor for dermatological signs of itching, redness, or sensitivity; and call back with questions.
