On an unknown date after applying the product to the 2 kittens the owner noticed that they were symptomatic. The owner observed that both cats died on July 19, 2013. On July 20, 2013 the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that if the kittens were saturated with the product, the alcohol could lead to depression and ataxia. The APSS veterinarian also stated that anemia could make the kittens more sensitive to the alcohol in the product. A necropsy was not available.
