1-34109715 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that her dog was exposed to a spot-on insecticide containing the active ingredients permethrin and methoprene. The reporter states that she applied the product to her 3 year old, male, 15 pound Lhasa Apso and terrier mix three days prior to initial contact with the registrant. Later that same day, the dog vomited and was scratching excessively. At the time of initial contact the reporter indicated that the affected area was red and irritated, the dog had vomited a total of three times, the dog had not been eating and was now lethargic. The reporter was advised that the described symptoms are not expected but her dog may have a sensitivity to the product. Bathing with a non-insecticidal shampoo was advised and veterinary care was recommended for any persistent symptoms. On follow-up call, two days later, the reporter indicated that she had gone to the veterinarian earlier that day, no treatment was provided and the per the caller the dogs symptoms had resolved that day. The reporter did indicate that the dog had lost two pounds in the last week. No further information is available.
