On October 22, 2012 the owner noticed that the cat was lethargic and hypodipsic. On October 23, 2012 the owner noticed that the cat was inappetent, not waking the owner to be fed and not eating his normal amount of food. Later that morning, the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that the cat's signs were very non-specific and could be due to many other reasons. The APSS veterinarian also stated that the spray product is well tolerated when used per label directions. The APSS assistant recommended that the owner bathe the cat with liquid dish washing detergent (LDWD) to remove the product; provide thermoregulation by keeping the cat warm after the bath; monitor the cat at home for twitching, shaking, or improvement; take the cat to the veterinarian that day if the cat's condition worsened or twitching and shaking occurred and take the cat to the veterinarian the next day if the cat did not improve; and have the veterinarian call for information.
