On October 9, 2012 the owner observed that the cat was drooling. Later that day, the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that the concern from an exposure to both products would be for a taste reaction of hypersalivation and vomiting. The APSS veterinarian recommended that the owner give the cat a taste treat of milk, tuna, or catnip; monitor the cat for gastrointestinal (GI) signs; manage any vomiting by giving nothing by mouth for 1 hour; bathe the cat with liquid dish washing detergent (LDWD), call back with questions; decontaminate the environment; and give medication as directed by applying a spot on product 3 to 4 weeks after the spray product had been used.
