(p.ex. description des symptômes tels que la fréquence et la gravité
Owner said that she believes that she placed 1 brick behind a radiator in the house a couple months ago. Yesterday they were moving things around, and today she noticed that the dog had a strange green color to the feces that reminded her of the brick. She went looking for it and could not find it. She does not know if the dog ate it and if it did it could have gotten into it any time between yesterday late afternoon to today around 5pm EST. The caller was advised that with an anticoagulant rodenticide, we can see coagulopathy. Initial clinical signs are vague: anorexia, lethargy, exercise intolerance. Signs progress hemorrhage into chest (causing dysnpea), abdomen, or joint (causing lameness). May see bruising. If initial bleed occurs in brain or spinal cord, neurologic signs may occur. Owners may also report sudden death with no other clinical signs. Caller advised that she thinks the earliest exposure could have been sometime yesterday, but it is possible the dog had access to the bait before yesterday. Discussed PT and Vit K1 for 30 days, recheck PT 48-72hrs after last dose. Owner mentioned that the dog gets very nervous at the DVM and is concerned about the blood draw. Discussed option of starting Vit K1 without checking PT, but due to unknown exposure would recommend checking PT. Have DVM call to discuss case. Provided call back and case numbers. On June 8, 2012, the caller stated that the pet is no a 30 day supply of k1. The pet is doing great and there is a PT scheduled for 2-3 days post last dose.
