1-31683235 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that her cat was exposed to an insecticidal product containing the active ingredients Tetrachlorvinphos and methoprene. The pet owner reported that three to four days prior to initial contact she applied the product to the carpet in her house and to the bedding of her 2-year-old, four pound, indoor only, female domestic shorthair. Three days prior to initial contact with the registrant the cat wasnt eating well and was acting funny. One day prior to initial contact the reporter brought her cat to the veterinarian who diagnosed anemia and gave the cat a vitamin K injection and sent the cat home with some unknown pills and vitamin K pills. On the day of initial contact the reporter indicated that the cat had passed away on its own at home. The reporter was advised that anemia is not consistent with product exposure. There are numerous possible causes for anemia including severe flea infestation. A necropsy was recommended to help determine an underlying cause for her cats symptoms. No further information is available.
