On May 24, 2011 the cat became symptomatic. On May 25, 2011 the regular veterinarian recommended the owner bathe the cat with warm water, which the owner did. On May 26, 2011 the cat's tremors worsene so the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS). The APSS veterinarian stated cats are very sensitive to permethrin. The APSS veterinarian recommended taking the cat to the veterinarian and having the veterinarian call for information. Shortly after the regular veterinarian called to obtain treatment recommendations. The APSS veterinarian recommended giving the cat methocarbamol, diazepam, fluid therapy, thermoregulation, supportive care, and calling back with questions.

On May 28, 2011 the regular veterinarian called the APSS to update the case. The regular veterinarian stated they gave the cat methocarbamol and diazepam, but fluid therapy, thermoregulation, and supportive cares were all rejected. The regular veteriarian also stated as far as he knows, the cat fully recovered as the client was supposed to call him if the signs persisted and the owner has not called. On July 25, 2011 an APSS assistant contacted the owner to obtain further info. The owner stated the cat had fully recovered on May 28, 2011. The label clearly states not to use this product on cats.
