On June 24, 2011 the owner noticed the dog was symptomatic. A short time later, the owner bathed the dog in liquid dish washing detergent (LDWD). Later that day, the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that with the use of both of the products, some dogs can have problems with signs that their skin might be tingling and will act distressed, restless, and perhaps rub on their surroundings, and usually these signs occur in smaller breeds. The APSS veterinarian concluded by stating that usually these signs do not last more than 1 to 2 days, at the most. The APSS technician recommended that the owner take the animal to the veterinarian and have the veterinarian call for information.
