(p.ex. description des symptômes tels que la fréquence et la gravité
1-27092090-The reporter, a pet owner, indicates his animals were exposed an insecticide containing the active ingredient phenothrin. The reporter indicated he applied the product to his two dogs five days prior o his initial contact with the registrant. The pet owner indicated three days later his two year old male fourteen pound mixed breed dog (Subform III, #1) developed bloody diarrhea and vomiting. He reports his two year male nine pound Yorkshire terrier (Subform III, #2) also developed anorexia and vomiting the same day. He had not brought the animals to the veterinarian. The pet owner was advised the signs, and time line were inconsistent with the toxicity profile of the product. He was advised to wash the animals with a noninsecticidal shampoo and seek immediate veterinary assistance. On follow up the pet owner indicated the animal were not brought to the veterinarian. The larger mixed breed dog had died the same day as the initial contact with the registrant. The pet owner indicated the remaining dog was now accepting food. On the follow up call the pet owner indicated the additional use and potential exposure of a lawn insecticidal product containing the active ingredient Esfenvalerate. He reported the product was applied to the lawn two days prior to the initial contact with the registrant and the animals were not allowed access to the lawn until the product had dried. The signs, time line and exposure described are inconsistent with the toxicity profile of either product. It is likely both dogs had some other diagnosis that had gone undetected and untreated. No further information is available.
