1-27315429- The reporter, a pet owner, indicated her animal may have been exposed to an herbicide that contained the active ingredients citric acid and acetic acid. The reporter indicated she had applied the product to her residential lawn 21 days prior to her initial contact with the registrant. the pet owner indicates her three year female Maltese dog (Subform III, #1) and her fourteen month female four pound Maltese dog (Subform III, #2) had been allowed access to the application site one day following application. She reported the older animal died suddenly one week prior to her initial report. The animal was observed vomiting and had lost weight prior to its death. It had been to the veterinarian and found to have an elevated liver enzyme (ALT 727) prior to its death. The pet owner did not describe further diagnostics or treatment of that animal. She also indicated the second animal three days prior to her report had developed vomiting, weight loss and a slightly elevated liver enzyme. The pet owner asked if the signs may be relate to the exposure. She was advised no more than mild transitory gastrointestinal irritation would be expected following observed direct ingestion exposure. The described scenario would be expected to yield no product related signs. She was advised to work with he veterinarian further. No further information is available.
