5/9/2011 Caller returned home yesterday and found that the dog had chewed on the aerosol can. The dog appeared to be ataxic and drowsy at the time. The dog was taken to the veterinarian at that time. The dog was given an unspecified medication injection and oral medication and sent home. Today the dog does not seem to have improved, and may have vomited blood today. 6/8/2011 Callback to the original caller for follow up information. The dog died one week after the initial evaluation by the veterinarian. The dog was under observation at the veterinarian when it died suddenly.

The information contained in this report is based on self-reported statements provided to the registrant during telephone Interview(s). These self-reported descriptions of an incident have not been independently verified to be factually correct or complete descriptions of the incident. For that reason, information contained in this report does not and can not form the basis for a determination of whether the reported clinical effects are causally related to exposure to the product identified in the telephone interviews. Although the ingestion of this pesticide formulation my cause some gastrointestinal distress, such symptoms are typically of minor severity and transient in nature. They are not typically associated with major illness and death. Serious systemic pyrethroid toxicity it typically associated with significant muscle tremors or seizure, neither which were reported in this case, nor would they be expected with a concentration of just 0.25% permethrin. It is conceivable that if the animal ingested the physical packaging, significant gastrointestinal injury or obstruction may occur.
