Signalment 12.0 yr neutered female weighing 75.0¿5.0 lb. Was in good health previously. Normal environment: indoors mostly. Agent Exposure Roundup Weed and Grass Killer Ready To Use Plus (observed agent id) Suspected exposure occurred on Jun 04, 2010 at 05:00 PM CDT (not indicated ). Exposure involved unknown amount orally. The exposure was accidental, and occurred at yard. [Note : Caller believes dog ate a small patch of grass which had been sprayed with roundup. Caller believes exposure occurred last night. Dog has been very weak, lethargic, and has been vomiting since early this morning. (by [initials] on Jun 05, 2010 at 01:56 PM)] Because the amount was unknown consistent, the patient was considered to be at low risk of developing clinical signs. If signs develop, there is low risk that those signs will be life-threatening. [Note : Mild GI upset may occur from this exposure history. (by [initials] on Jun 05, 2010 at 02:05 PM)] Potential Cause Roundup Weed and Grass Killer Ready To Use Plus Because the time course was poorly consistent, the amount was unknown consistent, and the findings were poorly consistent, this substance was considered to have doubtful likelihood of causing the clinical situation. [Note : Per owner, took dog to friend's house that has a kennel to call a DVM. Dog died while calling DVM clinics. Offered owner to consult with DVM, owner declined. (by [initials] on Jun 12, 2010 at 12:49 PM)] [Note : I discussed with the owner that I feel with the degree of weakness she is describing that something else is causing problems in the dog. The dog can only walk a few steps and then collapses to the floor. (by [initials] on Jun 05, 2010 at 02:05 PM)]
