1-23400355- The reporter, a pet owner, calls to indicate exposure of her animal to an herbicide containing the active ingredients 2,4-D (dimethylamine salt), Mecoprop-p (Dimethylamine Salt), and 2,4-DPp. The caller indicates she had applied the product to her lawn one month prior to the initial contact with the registrant. The pet owner also made a reference to a "Groundclear" product that was applied at some unspecified date. The incomplete information given did not allow product or active ingredient identification with regard to this subsequent product. The pet owner indicates her five year fifty five pound female boxer dog may have ingested grass to which the product was applied. The caller does not describe a discreet exposure incident, but indicates her animal has become ill and wondered if the signs observed could be related to potential ingestion. The pet owner indicates her animal has lacked an appetite for one week and had developed seizures the morning of the initial contact with the registrant. She reported she had taken the animal to the veterinarian and had numerous (unspecified) blood tests which were reported to be within normal limits. The caller was advised that the signs seen would not be expected following exposure this product. She was advised of the wide margin of safety and low order of toxicity of both the active ingredients and the formulation of the product. On routine call back the pet owner indicated the animal had died one day after the initial contact with the registrant. The pet owner indicated the animal returned to the veterinarian after it had developed further "seizures, paralysis, and loss of voluntary muscle control". The veterinarian had indicated a suspected brain tumor according to the owner. The pet owner indicates further testing such as radiographs or MRI that might have established a definitive diagnosis were not done due to concerns about cost. No further information is available
