Augmentation du risque sanitaire ou environnemental
Provides new information on the metabolism/degradation of MCPB in soils than was previously submitted to PMRA. The study results do not, however, present adverse effects. The MCPB Task Force has investigated the rate of degradation of MCPB in three additional US soils of varying type in a guideline compliant study (E.Fate Series 162-1: Aerobic Soil Metabolism); this study will be reported by Battelle UK Limited (Report # FK/08/001) in due course. CONCLUSION: It can be concluded that MCPB will not persist in the environment, being dissipated in aerobic soil via one major metabolite and numerous minor metabolites to form carbon dioxide and soil bound residues. The rate of metabolism in all of the soils was more rapid than previously determined with a mean half life DT50 of 4.7 days from the current studies. When combined with the half-life determined from the previous study the mean value is approximately 7.8 days, indicating substantially reduced environmental risk, compared to earlier calculations.
