Caller indicated that both his dogs may have gotten into some rodenticides. They both had access to the bag and the product is now missing. Owner reads that it is a 50 gram bag (placed by woodpile yesterday afternoon), earliest possible access was 10:00 am this morning. It was noted that the owner gave the peroxide about 30 and 20 minutes ago to both dogs, respectively, and has been walking the dogs slowly in a circle but neither one has vomited yet. The owner was advised to administer a second dose of peroxide for both dogs. Call back with results or if not vomiting after 15 minutes. Owner said the female lab did vomit but he did not see anything in the vomitus. His male dog did not vomit, owner said it repeated the dose once and he still has not vomited. He did say the dog had diarrhea which was green. The operator who fielded the call advised the animal owner to take the dogs into the vet and start them on Vitamin K1. Also it was advised that the male dog would need to be on Vitamin K1 for a period of 14 days starting tonight or first thing in the morning. Also since the female dog did not display any symptoms and there was nothing present in her vomitus she could have still possibly ingested the product since the ingestion was so long ago and the product could have moved through the stomach already into the intestines. During a follow up call with the animal owner it was noted that both animals are doing well and are on Vitamin K1 through July 9. Depending on blood work results, therapy may continue or be discontinued.
