History: Has dogs in home - nothing applied to dogs for past several months. Product applied to Beavers - he has been outside since last night-Unknown if he has any SX-is still outdoors. AI used on 2 cats at ~1:30 PM. SX noted at 5:30 PM with (name). Symptoms: Lethargy, pupils in eyes greatly enlarged. Also with drooling and panting. No other products used on cats. Assessment: This product has a low level of toxicity and wide margin of safety - Ingestions of small quantities of this product are unlikely to result in significant problems but if enough is ingested minor GI upset including nausea, vomiting and diarrhea may result - If symptoms develop, replace any fluids lost. If animal is a young, elderly or otherwise in poor health, fluid replacement should be accomplished with electrolyte containing fluids (e.g. Pedia-Lyte, Gator Ade). - If symptoms persist or worsen consult a veterinarian - Please call back if any additional concerns or questions arise - Do wash cat well with hand washing dish detergent for 10 min. Rinse well, keep warm until fully dry. AI not known to cause mydriasis etc. To DVM for evaluation. CALLBACK: States she bathed the cat as directed following call this morning. Symptoms continued for next 4.5 hrs until cat passed away. Caller still says she is unable to locate the other cat. Expressed sympathies for loss of pet. Continue to attempt to locate other cat - if Symptoms are present, bathe cat and have cat seen by Veterinarian. Discussed necropsy to be covered by Hartz. Caller given case # - is to contact a local DVM to arrange necropsy. Caller instructed to place cat in plastic bag and refrigerate until Veterinarian can be seen.
