The reporter described a packaging failure involving a pesticide containing the active ingredients pinoxaden and clodinafop-p-propargyl. The reporters described leaking of product from totes (2) with failure reported to have occurred at the point of valve assembly and/or coupler. In one instance, the tote leaked when the valve was open. In one instance the tote leaker when connected to the coupler but once disconnected did not persist. Product leakage approximations were 130L and 200L, respectively. No exposure or environmental injury was reported.

Annual cleaning and inspections of the totes (valves, seals, o-rings) and regular scheduled replacements (o-rings) for these returnable totes is conducted as preventative maintenance to ensure quality standards achieved.
