On 23Apr2024, a veterinary clinic staff member contacted Elanco to report an adverse reaction involving K9 advantix II Extra Large Dog (Permethrin, Imidacloprid, Pyriproxyfen). The following was reported: On 01Apr2024, the animal owner applied 1 tube of K9 advantix II Extra Large Dog (Permethrin, Imidacloprid, Pyriproxyfen) to the dog. The product was used correctly. No concomitant products were administered.

On 01Apr2024, immediately after application of K9 Advantix II, the 1.8-year-old, 37.5 kg, neutered male, Golden Retriever dog, developed application site pruritus, application site redness, and aggression when touched at the application site. On 08Apr2024 the owner bathed the dog with an unspecified shampoo. After the bath, the application site pruritus, application site redness, and aggression when touched at the application site all resolved. On 16Apr2024 the dog had a wound on his right eyelid. The dog was not examined by a veterinarian. At the time of the report it was unknown if the signs were ongoing or resolved.
