On 27 Mar 2024, an animal owner contacted Elanco regarding an inquiry and incidentally mentioned a potential adverse event after using the Seresto Large Dog collar on their canine. On an unknown date the canine was administered 1 Seresto large dog collar (Imidacloprid, Flumethrin), topically, by the owner. Its unknown if the product was used correctly.

On an unknown date, 3 days post application, the 3-year-old, unknown weight, intact male, Old English Sheepdog canine, in unknown condition, with unknown concomitant medical condition, became anorexic, lethargic, did not want to go outside (iethargy), relieved himself in crate (inappropriate urination). The owner removed the collar and washed dog's neck when symptoms first presented. It is not known whether any kind of soap or shampoo was used. The dog died a few days later on an unknowndate. The dog was found dead with blood coming from his mouth. It was unknown if the dog was treated by a veterinarian or if a necropsy was performed.
