(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
On 30-Aug-2023, a 1 year old, approximately 29.5 kilogram, neutered, male, Golden Retriever dog, in unknown condition, with no known concomitant medical conditions, was administered 1 tube of Parapet K9 Praventa 360 for Extra Large Dogs 25kg or More (Imidacloprid, Permethrin, Pyriproxyfen) via the topical route by the animal owner. Approximately 2 hours post application, the dog was bathed with a mild dog shampoo by the animal owner. This was extra label use, (treatment program not respected) as the label states do not shampoo or immerse the dog in water immediately after treatment. On 31-Aug-2023, the dog developed abnormal behavior (scooting and wanting to exclusively sit on its bottom) and localized itching (bottom). The dog had not been evaluated by a veterinarian, no treatment was performed, and the clinical signs continued. Bathing the dog using liquid dish soap to remove the product was discussed. Ruling out other potential causes was also recommended. No further information was received.
