On 28-Jun-2023 a pet owner contacted Elanco through the online AE portal to report a possible adverse event regarding K9 advantix II Small Dog (Permethrin, Imidacloprid, Pyriproxyfen). On 25-Jun-2023, a dog was administered 1 tube of K9 advantix II Small Dog (Permethrin, Imidacloprid, Pyriproxyfen) topically by the owner.

Approximately 2 hours following the application, the 8 year old, 4.5 kg, neutered, male, Maltese/Pomeranian crossbred dog, in good condition, with no known concomitant medical conditions, became twitchy, itchy at the application site and lethargic. On 27-Jun-2023 the dog developed an scab at the application site. The dog was examined by DVM and was dispensed Dermachlor wipes, Trimeprazine tartrate 5 mg, and prednisolone 2 mg, and Gabapentin. On 04-Jul-2023 the dog recovered.
