On 27 Jul 2022, an animal owner contacted Elanco regarding a potential lack of efficacy after using a Seresto Large Dog Collar on a canine and reported the following: On an unknown date in 2021, a canine had one Seresto Large Dog (Flumethrin-Imidacloprid) collar placed around the neck by the owner. The owner stated they had used the product in the past without issue.

At an unspecified time, post application, the 15-year-old, 45.35 Kg, neutered, female, English Coonhound dog, in unknown condition, with no known concomitant medical conditions, exhibited urticaria and pruritus. The collar was removed. No treatments or diagnostics were performed. On an unspecified date, the dog died. No necropsy was performed.
