Subform VII: Scientific Study
1. Study Reference
Title Ethofumesate: Micronucleus test in Chinese hamster V79 cells in vitro
Date 23-SEP-15
2. a) Is an extension needed to translate the document?
No
3. Type of incident identified in the study
New health or environmental hazard
4. Describe the incident identified in the study (e.g. study demonstrates an increased risk to non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma after exposure to pesticide X)
Ethofumesate produced a statistically significant increase in micronuclei in Chinese hamster V79 cells in the absence of S9 mix at 72.3 ug/mL and in the presence of S9 mix at 221.4 ug/mL (cytotoxic dose). Under the experimental conditions reported, ethofumesate was mutagenic in Chinese Hamster V79 cells when tested up to cytotoxic concentrations.
5. a) Was the study discontinued before completion?
No
5. b) Provide the reason for discontinuation
6. If the study is ongoing, what is the expected completion date?
For Registrant use only
7. Provide supplemental information here
This result should not affect the current risk assessment because ethofumesate did not produce micronuclei in an in vivo mouse study at a dose of 8100 mg/kg body weight.
