Subform VII: Scientific Study

1. Study Reference

Title 2,4-D-trolamine ME 703 G: A 96-hour toxicity test with the freshwater diatom (Navicula pelliculosa)

Date 01-SEP-22

2. a) Is an extension needed to translate the document?

No

3. Type of incident identified in the study

New health or environmental hazard

4. Describe the incident identified in the study (e.g. study demonstrates an increased risk to non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma after exposure to pesticide X)

A 96-hour algal growth inhibition study (OECD No. 201, OCSPP 850.4500) was performed with the 2,4-D Trolamine ME 703 G formulation on the freshwater diatom species Navicula pelliculosa. The NOEC for this study, 1.15 mg 2,4-D acid equivalent (a.e.)/L (3.1 mg /L nominal concentration of the formulation), is lower than the current lowest non-vascular plant NOEC from a Navicula pelliculosa study with the dimethylamine salt of 2,4-D.

5. a) Was the study discontinued before completion?

No

5. b) Provide the reason for discontinuation

6. If the study is ongoing, what is the expected completion date?

For Registrant use only

7. Provide supplemental information here

The lowest EC50 for this study, 21.4 mg a.e./L (56 mg/L nominal concentration of the formulation) is higher than the current lowest EC50, 3.88 mg a.e./L.
