On 11 Jul 2022 an animal owner posted online regarding an adverse event after using K9 Advantix II Large Dog on their cat/feline and reported the following: On an unknown date, a cat was administered 1 dose of K9 Advantix II Large Dog (imidacloprid, permethrin, pyriproxyfen) topically by the owner. No concomitant products were administered.

On an unknown date, the male feline/cat, of an unknown signalment and condition, with unknown concomitant medical conditions, had severe diarrhoea. They took the cat to the veterinarian and the veterinarian did not know that this was the issue until they administered other unspecified medications. The cat died on an unknown date after convulsions, vomiting, and diarrhoea. The owner stated the product was responsible.
