On 15-May-2022, a 5 year old, 2.27 kilogram, neutered, male, Domestic Shorthair cat, in unknown condition, with no known concomitant medical condition, was administered 1 tube of Hartz UltraGuard OneSpot Flea and Tick Cat Drops (S Methoprene) via the topical route by the animal owner. On 16-May-2022, the cat developed application site alopecia. On 17-May-2022, the clinical sign worsened. The cat was not evaluated by a veterinarian, no treatments were performed, and the clinical sign continued. Monitoring for new or worsening signs was recommended. If signs persisted then removing the product by bathing with dish soap was recommended. The product was previously administered by the animal owner on approximately 01-Apr-2021 and had been used seasonally without issue. No further information was received.
