Subform VII: Scientific Study

1. Study Reference

Title Toxicity to the predatory mite Typhlodromus pyri Scheuten (Acari, Phytoseiidae) using a laboratory test - Oxadiazon SC 380 g/L

Date 30-JUN-10

2. a) Is an extension needed to translate the document?

No

3. Type of incident identified in the study

New health or environmental hazard

4. Describe the incident identified in the study (e.g. study demonstrates an increased risk to non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma after exposure to pesticide X)

This study was a laboratory assay with the formulation Oxadiazon SC 380 g/L that measured effects on survival and reproduction in the predatory mite Typhlodromus pyri. While this exact formulation is not sold in the US or Canada, it is a soluble concentrate with 380 g/L oxadiazon, which is considered to be similar to the RONSTAR FLO formulation. RONSTAR FLO is a soluble concentrate with 370 g/L oxadiazon. In the study, the LR50 was determined to be 157.8 g a.s./ha, and the NOEC for reproduction was determined to be less than 35 g a.s./ha.

5. a) Was the study discontinued before completion?

No

5. b) Provide the reason for discontinuation

6. If the study is ongoing, what is the expected completion date?

For Registrant use only

7. Provide supplemental information here

PMRA does not require data on T. pyri and this type of data is not usually used in the risk assessment.
