On 7 Sep 2021, an animal owner contacted Elanco to report an adverse event involving Seresto collar for a dog. On an unknown date in 2021 a male Canine/dog of unknown age, weight in fair condition, with no known concomitant medical conditions, was administered 1 collar of Seresto Collar unknown (Imidacloprid, Flumethrin) topically by the owner.

On an unknown time later the owner stated the dog was fine before he put the collar on the animal, however it then he had several seizures which ended up killing him. The owner had taken the collar off, but it was too late. Elanco considers this case closed; additional information will be filed as received.
