2021SCCA00026252 - The reporter, a homeowner, indicates an exposure to a pesticide containing the active ingredient dichlorvos plus related active compounds. An unknown number of days before the day of initial contact with the registrant, the reporter placed 9 strips of the pesticide in their home then left the home. Three days before the day of initial contact, the reporter returned to their home to remove the strips and almost immediately developed a burning sensation on their tongue, lip, and mouth. Two days before the day of initial contact, the reporter sought medical evaluation where it was recommended the symptoms be monitored at home. On the day of initial contact, the reporter stated he was also indirectly exposed to another strip of the pesticide in another home for about 4 days. The reporter was advised to seek additional medical evaluation due to the persistence of the symptom. On follow-up call four days later, the reporter indicated the burning sensation was still present, but lessened in intensity. The reporter additionally stated they had developed shortness of breath and loss of their sense of taste. The reporter was encouraged to contact their health care professional. No additional information is available.
