O - Unclassifiable/unassessable
Even though more expected after oral uptake, permethrin has the potential to cause mild, transient neurological disorders (e.g. ataxia) in particularly susceptible animals. However, time to onset is long (3days). Other causes should be considered. Urinary incontinence and fecal incontinence are not expected after product use. Other causes are more probable. Vocalization may be associated with other reported signs. Further reported death after product application is not expected in dogs, as it is inconsistent with the pharmaco-toxicological profile of the product. Time to onset is more than 12 hours, therefore an allergic/anaphylactic-type reaction can be ruled out. Other causes are more probable, also considering other animals in the household showed the same signs. No necropsy was performed. Overall, a product relation is considered unassessable.
