(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
On 13-Apr-2020, a 7 year old, approximately 10 pound, neutered, male, Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher crossbred dog, in unknown condition, with no known concomitant medical condition, was administered for the first time, 1 tube of Hartz UltraGuard Flea and Tick Drops for Dogs Over 28 kg (Phenothrin) via the topical route by the animal owner. This was an extra label use as the dog was administered an overdose. On 15-Apr-2020, the dog developed lethargy, was reluctant to move and exhibited general pain. The dog was bathed with an unspecified shampoo by the animal owner. The dog had not been evaluated by a veterinarian, no treatment had been performed and the clinical signs persisted at the time of the call. Bathing the dog with liquid dish soap twice, and applying a cool compress and vitamin E oil to the application site was recommended. Also recommended further veterinary evaluation if the signs persisted or worsened. No further information was received in this case.
